Skip to the bottom for a one-line summary if you have the attention span of a goldfish.

Everyone already knows they killed P1 in the new series. Everyone already knows that DPs will be sped up so they can compete with LMP2 cars. We were told GTE wouldn't be changed, and neither would LMPC. GAGT and GTC would be merged and GAGTs would be slowed (7/10ths at Road America) to GTC speeds to create a gap to GTEs.

This week we've seen !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! which says Porsche thinks they'll build 15 US-only 911s. But there are two big things in that article is that article that we hadn't heard before. First, both GAGT and GTC 911s will be INELIGIBLE in TUSCC next season. That means half the GAGT class and the entire GTC class have been axed. The geniuses running TUSCC said the whole reason for this DP and P2 crap was that they wanted to keep as much old machinery in the new series as possible. Between the two series, they have just killed:

2 P1s
18 GAGTs (Daytona)
11 GTCs (Sebring)

That's 31 cars between the two series, or 31% of the cars that ran Daytona and Sebring. So much for keeping old cars!

The second thing is that GTD is going to be slowed "significantly" against this year's GTC speeds. I think I just realized the reason they've done this. So the GAGT "Mazda6" diesel might finish a race. Only reason I can think of. As a result of this speed change, Mike Hedlund, driver of the JDX GTC 911 in ALMS !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! in the class next season. he says that GTC is already too slow and in the way everywhere and that making them slower will cause even more issues.

If you're still with me, awesome. The third big thing to come out today was that LMPC will probably be slowed too.

Enzo Potolicchio, owner of 8Star Motorsports, a team with a car in everything you can think of, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! on buying another LMPC as a result. If LMPC is slowed down, it puts them directly in the path of factory GTE cars. The amateur drivers in LMPCs already have a tendency to hit GTE cars. This will only make things worse.

What is it about Daytona that makes people morons? Is it the water? Maybe NASCAR puts some kind of mind altering drug in the water fountains at the speedway? I can't understand how NASCAR continually screws stuff up, both in their oval series and Grand-Am, and now in the one they just bought.

TL,DR: GTC and GAGT 911s NOT eligible next season, GTD will be slowed "significantly," LMPC will be slowed.

Well looks like Porsche needed to make sure there was a market for its new 991 US only race cars so they made a call to the France family........

You, apparently, listen to Midweek Mororosport.

This merger was never going to be win win. I think the only thing that would have made anyone happy would to have been to go back to Group C rules and to roll out the 962s and the Nissans.
